Past management of AC “VORȚANA” forests

Next, specific data are presented for the production units from which the forests originate, trying to emphasize those that are the subject of past forest management for the forest fund under study.

Thus, with certainty, before 1948 these groves did not belong to the state, as there were only communal, compositional and church forests in the area.

The current state of the stands reflects their management, with the treatments applied being different, depending on their accessibility.

During this period, forest exploitation was mainly aimed at harvesting firewood and rural construction. No maintenance cuttings of the stands were carried out during this period.

Regarding the way the arrangements are drawn up, it is worth noting the provision of unitary management of all forests, by consistently adopting the principles of continuity, productivity and profitability.

When applying the arrangements, one can remember the general concern of respecting the measures, respectively the provisions of the arrangements, reducing the regeneration class, expanding intensive treatments, increasing the area of stands with special protective functions, equipping forests with roads, etc.

In the process of forest management, from the first planning until now, it is noted that there is a relative improvement in the structure of the forest fund. The composition at the level of production units does not show spectacular changes, it was and is quite good, however requiring some modifications.
